A Cat, a Bench, and Falling Leaves

A quiet little scene
A small black cat sits on a park bench. It's autumn. The trees are glowing orange and red, an old green door waits in the background, and the leaves keep drifting down and settling on the ground around the bench.
Not much happens. That's the point. It's a loop, made to be watched again and again, the kind of scene you can leave running and just look at for a while.
How it came together
I modeled everything in Maya and animated it there too. Then I brought it all into Unreal Engine 5 and put the scene together.
The falling leaves are a particle system in Unreal. They float down, land, and stay on the ground, slowly building up the carpet of color around the bench.
To finish it off, I added a small piano loop that runs along with the picture.
Honestly, it took me surprisingly long. For such a small scene, there was a lot of time in it. But that's often how it goes with the quiet ones: every detail is visible, so every detail has to be right.
The audience that mattered
Online, this one never really took off. No big reactions on social media, no attention anywhere else either. It just quietly sat there.
But I showed it to my mother. She loved it. She wanted to watch it again, and then again, and she was so happy that I had made something like this.
That changed how I feel about it. Whatever the numbers say, it found someone it meant something to. I didn't make it for nothing.
